More about that shinyperfect zine cover
/Okay, back to the (literal) drawing board for the cover of the upcoming issue of the Backstreet Arts &… Zine. You will have noticed I’m doing it the dangerous way: by hand. If I did it on a graphics tablet, I could undo any “mistakes,” couldn’t I?
Which leads me to my first puzzlement.
This little guy in the original sketch…
… is so deftly sketched that I don’t know if I can replicate that on the actual drawing. I may try to scan him, clean him up digitally, then insert him into the main file.
I went ahead and began laying out the courses of blocks.
I had gotten this far when I realized I couldn’t go any further without my little guy in place. Also, the blocks will be textured, and boy is that going to be tedious.
I’m going to scan the little guy — I should name him — and see if that works.
BBL.
