So, so busy...
/You might very well think that my life must have been too busy recently, especially since I missed Monday’s blogpost. I mean, what kind of influencer/guru/thought leader am I if I can’t even squeeze out five paragraphs about something something creative process?
Oh, well, sucks to be an impostor, I guess.
The irony is that I am busier this week than I have been in a while.
This was publication week for the Backstreet Arts &… Zine, our quarterly publication of art & poetry & fiction &… you get the idea. What this means is that I print out more than 100 copies of the 20-page zine, then staple, fold, and distribute them. It’s not onerous in the least, but it has to be done. (Good thing I had Faith and the gang to volunteer to do that while I sat with the Writers Group.)
You can get a PDF of vol. 2, no. 1 [theme: FAMILY] here. There is some killer stuff in there.
And of course this week is Southern Arc Dance’s world premiere performance of my Ten Little Waltzes. Again, nothing requiring my presence or time — other than my burning 20-something CDs for cast members that requested one, which included labels, cases, etc. — but I will need to show my face at dress rehearsal on Friday, plus the performances on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. It’s the anticipation of the thing that’s occupying my brainthoughts more than any physical/temporal requirements.
(I have not been informed of any cocktail parties in my honor, but I’ll report back on Monday along with a full account of how it went.)
You can get tickets here.
Of course, none of any of this actually kept me from squeezing out a blogpost on Monday, but what do you expect from an impostor?
