This will not excite very many of you, but for those of you who are or were costumers, the Commercial Pattern Archive is a dream come true. Where was this when I was having to draft the patterns for Fanny Seward’s ball gown for Abraham Lincoln’s second Inaugural Ball? It wouldn’t have helped with Martha Washington’s gown, but it certainly would have saved me tons of time trying to teach the members of the Newnan Community Theatre Company how to whip up all those costumes for A Christmas Carol, among others.
