Fun Friday Resources

Here’s an inspirational site: The HTML Review, an online magazine of literature written to be read on the web. Scroll up or down to find your way through the selection, then click on the title beneath the image to read the work. Some of it is strained or twee, but there’s a lot to like here to STEAL FROM THE BEST.

We all love a good listicle, right? Check out Buster’s Rickshaw, where Buster gives you the quiz “What are your beliefs about reality?” to narrow down your cosmological stance, then suggest which belief system you seem to be a good fit for. It’s a challenging read, particularly if — like me — you resist being so categorized. (My sincere reply to annoying true believers of any cosmology is “I completely misunderstand God differently than you completely misunderstand God.”)

Over at Public Domain Review, we have What to Draw and How to Draw It, a 1913 publication that inspired a certain Walt Disney in his career. It’s very much like the beloved Ed Emberley series on drawing, starting with basic geometric shapes and filling in from there through SUCCESSIVE APPROXIMATION. Enjoy!
