I have to confess...

Today I got an email from Deanne Gute, one of the professors teaching the course on the creative process at the University of Northern Iowa, the title of which is Creativity and the Evolution of Culture. She gave me a link to the videos made by the students in her section to “pass the torch” to fellow students, saying “In other words, they share the wisdom they gained from experimenting with the precepts in your book. They are told that we need to see and hear them for at least part of the video, and that audiences love visuals, but beyond that, they can use their imagination and whatever strengths they want to bring to the project.”

Well. I have watched only the first one so far, and it has blown my mind to hear Amelia Gotera, a sculpture major, talk about ABANDONMENT and how she used that and other precepts to free herself from the fear of perfection. To hear your terms being used deliberately by a working artist is mind-bending.

I think I shall go pat myself on the back a little more.

In other news, I will be traveling through December 10, so I may not be able to blog here. With any luck, you can follow along with our travels through German Christmas markets over at dalelyles.com.
