Build It Burn It workshop

Have you ever wondered why the artists at Burning Man and the regional burns spend so much time, materials, and effort to build a structure they just turn around and burn?

Have you ever wanted to do that, to build something and burn it?

Join Backstreet writing coach Dale Lyles and build a mini-sculpture that you can take home to burn in your own fire pit!

You will need:

  • a place at home to burn wood safely: fire pit, fireplace, hibachi, field

  • scraps of burnable material: no pressure-treated lumber; avoid painted surfaces

We will provide:

  • design and safety advice

  • measuring/geometry assistance

  • power tools

  • screws/nails

  • inspiration
