GALAXY PROJECT: an update

I spent yesterday working with Turff, the chief engineer of the GALAXY Project, to Get Stuff Done. And now — essentially — we’re done.

Turff still has a few power boxes to finish, and we still have to bundle the rings for easy distribution, but GALAXY is all but complete.

At this point I have to give Turff all the credit for making this happen. I had this brilliant idea, but I would never have been able to figure out the actual power requirements or the wiring structures that he has. He has discovered materials and techniques that I never would have dreamed existed. He has worked for months building most of it by himself, and paid for the supplies himself pending funding from the Alchemy art fundraiser (which has just been released).

So when you come to Unsilent Night Newnan on Dec 4, remember as you ooh and aah over this gorgeous display of lights, that the staggering complexity is all because of Kevin McInturff, Chief Engineer.
