Fun Friday Resources

An oldie but a goodie: the Internet Archive Book Images over on Flickr. Over 5 million images. Not easy to search, but a treasure trove of serendipity.

The really fun stuff starts about 10,000 pages (!) in, and the easiest way to skip around is to alter the page number in the URL.

If you can't get to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, you can still get a great look at their sculptures in 3D at their Digitization Project. (Spoiler alert: I'll be there in a couple of weeks!)

This is not a free resource, but it looks fun.  I have subscribed to Letter Joy to see how it goes; I'll report back later.

Open Culture is a phenomenal resource of online and free resources.  This post is too rich with links for me to steal from, so just go have a look: a history of cartography with amazing maps.
