An experiment

Here's a short idea that might have a profound impact on your work:

Take your WASTE BOOK.

You do have a Waste Book, don't you??

Here's the experiment:  Commit to using the Waste Book to record every thought you have for a full day.

Easy?  Not at all.  I've never been able to do it.

But imagine the benefits: you begin to see your trains of thought.  All those random ideas that might be good topics for writing/painting/composing—now they're written down.  All those random ideas become ABORTIVE ATTEMPTS that lead into SUCCESSIVE APPROXIMATIONS or connections to other ideas.

You create your own creative feedback loop.

Can't hurt, might help.
